BRADSHAW, Eleanor Audrey- age 88 passed away Tuesday December 18, 2018 in The Pavilion. Visitation will be held on Friday December 21st 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Partlow Chapel. Graveside service to follow at Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens. Ms. Bradshaw is preceded in death by her parents, Herschel Bradshaw & Mattie Lou Griffin Bradshaw; & sister, Jamie Bradshaw Brooks. Survived by her nephews Brad (Carol) Brooks, Jay(Renee) Knight , & Tom Brooks; great niece, Anastasia Knight. In lieu of flowers her request was to make contributions to Lebanon's First United Methodist Church.
Ms. Bradshaw could often be seen with her Omnichord spreading joy with her music and friendly conversation. Her life began in Wilson Co, Tn. attending Munsey Country School. Her family moved to Lebanon when she was thirteen so her mother could form the food service for 250 Air Cadets stationed at Cumberland University during WWII. She attended Lebanon High School & Cumberland University, where she earned her degree in Speech & Dramatics. At Cumberland, she was President of the Little Theater Guild and was elected to Alpha Psi Omega, an honorary drama society. She also edited the 1950 Phoenix yearbook. Later she studied at Peabody in Nashville. She was certified to teach math & speech in high school, but decided she preferred the little ones receiving her elementary teacher certification and taught third graders in Georgia & Florida. When she moved to Nashville in 1958, she worked as an editorial assistant on adult Sunday School material at the Methodist Publishing House. She eventually moved back to Lebanon to help with her mother's business, catering for special events. They ran the Texas Boot Factory Cafeteria for ten years. Audrey's passion was entertaining and writing poetry, and she even published two books of poetry. She will be missed by her loving family & friends.
