ROWLAND, Billy Gene - age 80 of Lebanon passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born in Rutherford County to the late John Rodgers and Frankie Mae Duke Rowland. Billy worked as a Wilson County Sheriff deputy and Lebanon Police officer, he also served in the United States Army. Billy ran a dairy farm with his family for 45 years. Billy served as a County Commissioner of the 12th district for 20 years. He was also a deacon for 30 years at Fall Creek Baptist Church and a Gideon of Wilson County. He loved his church, family, community and coon hunting.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Rowland. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Marlene Jernigan Rowland of 60 years; his two sons, David (Michelle) Rowland and Gary (Robin) Rowland also of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Ashley Guy, Amber Rowland, Alivia (Andy) Pendleton, Thomas McCullough, Jordan McCullough, Alex McCullough, Kayla Webb, Devon Webb and Carson Rowland; seven great-grandchildren, Makenna Guy, Paisleigh Guy, Hillary Rowland, Scarlett Pendleton, Maverick Pendleton, Stetson Pendleton, and Colton Webb; and his sister, Linda (Larry) Hice of Murfreesboro.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4 p.m. 8 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Bro. Jim Yates and Terry Wrye will officiate. Interment, Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas, Jordan, and Alex McCullough, Devon Webb, Carson Rowland, and Gary Rowland. Flowers will be excepted or donations may be made to Fairview Cemetery in Norene.
